When faced with awkward spaces, it can be difficult to imagine what to do with the space. But with our expertise, we can help you imagine what your space could be like!
Our client had multiple columns to contend with. In what was a once-neglected area, the team wanted to turn it into a usable and productive space.
Areas sometimes get neglected because it’s difficult to imagine what the space could look like. Any choices needed to have a minimal look, as the space had a lot going on. We also had to take into account that because this area was on a lower level, there was minimal natural light coming through.
After consulting with our client, we opted to split the space into two areas – a meeting room and a functional office space. This division meant natural light needed to be considered, alongside its visual appearance. The key was to ensure that the finish complemented the brick work of the building but also the black finishes of the building, like the stairs. After looking at various options, we installed frameless doors and glass panels in a black aluminium finish. This selection helps to keep things sleek while also complementing the space.
Having two new workspaces meant installing two framed glass doors into the columns for access, where we opted for 10mm safety toughened glass. For the area separations, we opted to use two frameless style window panes, which still allowed natural light to shine through.
This solution turned an underused space into a functional workspace while still keeping the area bright and spacious. It’s a stunning showcase of how we can work around your space and provide you with a space that works perfectly for you and the environment.
