Our client in Essex had a warehouse that needed to be more than just a storage space. We stepped in to help turn the ground floor into a modern, practical office space. Here’s how we brought style and acoustic comfort to an industrial setting..
Our client had a ground-floor warehouse that offered huge, open areas – great for flexibility, but tricky when it comes to day-to-day office life. Their staff needed quiet corners for focused work, meeting areas where conversations wouldn’t travel and a professional feel that impressed clients.
One detail that was important to consider was the metal ceiling. Hard surfaces like this can bounce sound around, making calls echo and meetings disruptive. It had a huge influence on our partitioning specification and highlighted the need for acoustic solutions. The client wanted clear, bright spaces without installing traditional walls that would block natural light and make this new office space feel closed-in.
Our glass partitioning experts were called in to support with a solution that worked with the warehouse’s industrial character, delivered appropriate acoustic performance and gave the office a contemporary style.
To tame the acoustics, we specified our premium acoustic glass office partitions. This system is designed to reduce sound travel between areas, allowing meetings to happen without carrying noise across from the factory floor. It ensures that team members can focus on tasks without being disturbed by adjacent activity and helps maintain a professional environment for client meetings.
Our acoustic glass walls offer a range of benefits, including:
To complement these glass warehouse partitions, we installed framed glass doors. This option was selected to further prevent sound from escaping by sealing the gaps around the door edges with the frame. The framing helps stop noise from sneaking out where a standard glass door could potentially let it leak, adding an extra layer of acoustic protection. While it’s impossible to create a completely soundproof glass office (several actors beyond the partitions come into play), this system offers sufficient acoustic support. It allows the team to meet and work comfortably without noise drifting from the open warehouse floor.
Finally, to add style and definition, we paired the acoustic panels with partitioning banding. The black, horizontal lines gave the industrial space a modern edge, providing visual interest and subtly defining zones without interrupting the flow of natural light. The result is a bright, visually engaging workplace where focus, collaboration and professionalism can coexist. It proves that even large, open warehouses can be converted into glass offices that support your team.
