Opting for a black frame glass partition is becoming a key design choice for many modern businesses. It’s an on-trend pick and is not likely to go away anytime soon, and for good reason!
Our client approached us with the need to transform two distinct areas within their office into more functional, purpose-driven spaces. They had a typical open-plan working environment but were lacking zoned areas to support different working types. Essentially we were given a blank canvas and tasked with recommending the most effective solution for these spaces.
However, with spaces like this, we have to work around the building’s existing features, such as sloped ceilings, skirting boards embedded with electrical wiring, and weight-bearing pillars, which all had to be carefully considered. Each of these elements required a tailored approach to ensure that the new installations would seamlessly integrate into the existing architecture.
After considering the two spaces and the client’s needs, we suggested that the best way to utilise one of the spaces would be to create two zones in the one larger room. This would then make way for a smaller single-desked office and a larger boardroom-style meeting room, perfect for collaboration.
In our secondary area, we were keen to utilise an overlooked space to create a smaller meeting room to accommodate four people. This area was neglected previously as it was treated as a transitional space. This naturally happened because of several factors; it’s likely due to it being right by the office entrance, next to the stairs and having the weight-bearing pillar to contend with. However, we saw it as a missed opportunity, so we were keen to transform it into a productive space. There are several additional factors we also consider when planning out your space…
When planning your spaces, we will consider the space you have thoroughly, and sometimes the decisions we come to may mean that you need a bespoke solution. In this case, the boardroom black frame glass partition had to take into consideration the skirtings which fed the electric cables, the sloped ceiling and the slight bump in the ceiling. These elements make it harder to install a black banded glass wall but there is a solution!
To address this, we use a technique called raking which involves cutting our glass partition walls to a specific angle to fit the surface. We do this by accurately measuring in the site visit, and sometimes by creating a template out of plywood which leaves little room for errors. This is passed onto our glass manufacturer who cuts the bespoke size, so we can install it efficiently on-site.
The look and feel of the glass you pick for your office plays a significant role in how your business is perceived. Our banded glass is extremely popular and continues to be a trending choice for those who want an industrial aesthetic. This style lends itself to both modern and also older offices where they are trying to connect old and new.
The black frame glass partition wall selected for this project was a perfect fit for this modern office, complementing the existing black doors and stunning wood floors. It oozes professionalism while maintaining a modern, sleek look.
Creating designated areas like the ones in this project enhances the overall appeal of the company by fostering a more productive and collaborative environment, for both employees and external guests. So what’s not to like, especially when they look this good?
Providing areas specifically for meetings stops sound transferring across rooms which often distracts others in the process meaning employees can’t concentrate as well. So in a nutshell this will also help employees concentrate better, leading to improved performance.
By opting for glass partitions rather than stud walls it means you don’t disturb the natural light which passes through the building. Natural light in offices has been proven to have a huge impact on how employees work, which positively impacts employee well-being and productivity. When workers feel energized by their environment, creativity and collaboration are more likely to thrive.
Even though our banded options have a coloured aluminium glass frame partition framework it still allows light to flow freely through the office, contributing to a brighter, more open atmosphere.
But, we hear you ask, what about the aluminium framed glass partition price? And we can tell you that the price depends on a variety of factors, whether you need a bespoke solution, the size of the glass, how many sides, types of doors, etc. But that’s where our team come in!
