Fitting Banded Glass Partitioning To A Bespoke Area

When our clients approach us, most have initial visions of how they want their space to look. But if you’re like our client here who works in the construction industry, you’ll have a clear understanding of the possibilities.

The Challenge

As our client had already built the walled partitions and had a specific vision of how they wanted their project to turn out, it meant we needed to work to a specific set of dimensions to create the idea into a reality. In terms of look and feel, our client wanted an industrial finish to complement an area in the workplace that they intended to build later.

Ultimately, we were faced with two challenges: to get the fit and the style right for this bespoke workspace.

The Solution

Because this was a bespoke area, our first focus area was to measure each segment to the millimetre. As with every project, we started by conducting a technical survey, meaning we can be sure that we get the right dimensions from the very beginning. Doing this also means we can assess the space to see if we need to allow for anything which might disturb the flow of the partitions, like HVAC systems. All of which we can work around with our glass panels.

When it comes to the styling, our client wanted an industrial finish. We therefore opted for a classic aluminium style frame and a uPVC banding in a black finish. Having a banded glass partition like this leaves the space feeling modern, while still complementing the traditional brickwork that gives the room character. After the initial glass frame fitting, we then assemble the bars onto the glass to form the framework on top.

Glass Partitioning Installation

The glass we opted for was a 10mm safety toughened glass with framed doors and a bar handle. The framework around these designs gives great support, meaning your partitions are more durable and resistant to wear and tear.

These partitions allow for two different-sized office spaces for the team to utilise. It means teams can have more privacy and noise reduction, without having to sacrifice natural light flooding into the space.
